You

Anonymous

Thank you for being there,

Thank you for seeing,

Just exactly how much you mean to me,

Thank you just for being.

You do things so little,

Yet they mean so much.

By just looking into my eyes,

Or just by your gentle touch.

You lent me your shoulder,

So I could dry my eyes,

It didn't matter to you if I made a mistake,

No matter what the size.

What meant so much was just a little,

But it has made me see,

Just exactly how special,

You are to me.

Your Smile

Anonymous

As I walk down the darkest street I see,

Nothing but the light of the stars.

The brightest one shines down on me,

But your smile is brighter by far.

Window

Anonymous

I look out my window only to see,

The rain pouring down.

I think of your face smiling at me,

And I no longer wear a frown.

To think of all we've done together,

All that we will do.

Makes me hope you look out your window,

And see my smile too.

'Rocketman' provides senseless fun

By Bob K.

Comedy PG

As a child, Fred Randall (Harland Williams) always dreamed about becoming an astronaut. When a member of the Mars mission was injured, Fred, the computer genius who programmed the Mars mission computers, got his chance.

This new Disney movie is about the perils of trying to get to Mars and the trouble the crew encounters on the way. Fred clashes with the cocky Captain, William Overbeck (William Sadler), falls in love with Officer Julie Ford (Jessica Lundy) and becomes friends with Ulysses, a trained chimpanzee. Rocketman is senseless but funny, and worth seeing if you are in that kind of a mood.

Aqua's "Bubbling Water" is a big hit

By Brittany B.

Aqua has hit the world by storm, and not just in the music industry. Aqua's biggest hit is "Barbie Girl." It is a song about the Barbie Doll, which is really a cynical look at the relationship between Barbie and Ken--the two dolls that put a picture to every fantasy relationship for girls between the ages of three and seven, from 1959 until today.

Aqua's biggest hit, "Barbie Girl," is only one of the CD's worldwide hits. Aqua has eleven wonderful, upbeat, dance sensation, moving songs. The female lead on "Barbie Girl" is very talented and the male lead complements her superbly. Aqua has four members, all very excellent singers, writers, and musicians.

"Be a Man" is a romantic, slow, sweet song about a young woman telling her ex-boyrfriend that she is all right with him seeing another girl. Through the words, however, you can tell that she is not alright, and that she is really asking him to come back to her because she is heartbroken--although she reassures herself "it'll be alright" again and again.

"Roses are Red" is a song that reminds me of valentines, a perfect Valentine's Day dance beat, just right for you and your special one. "Turn back Time" is a beautiful song of love and change. Also, like the others, this is slow, yet up-moving, dance material.

"Calling you" starts off "c-a-l-l-i-n-g you" and repeats the phrase in the chorus. The narrator is trying to reach her boyfriend, and asking the operator to connect her, "operator all you have to do is connect me, I'm waiting." It is very catchy. There are five other songs, "Happy Boys and Girls," "My oh My," "Barbie Girl," "Good Morning Sunshine" (a warning--this is not like the original from the 70's), "Doctor Jones" and "Heat of the Night".

This is a terrific CD and Aqua gets an A+ for slow, yet fast music, great vocals, musicians and dance beats. [CD for review supplied by Brianna Catuadella].

'Dharma & Greg' is an odd couple for the 90's

By Christa M.

New this season is the T.V. show, Dharma & Greg, that airs on Wednesday at 7:30 P.M. on ABC (Channel 7). Basically, it is about an odd couple. Greg, played by Thomas Gibson, comes from a wealthy, conservative background--butlers and country club memberships, and he works as a states attorney. Dharma, played by Jenna Elfman, comes from a hippie family, hence the name Dharma. Dharma’s parents take herbs, do cleansings, and are not officially married--get the picture? Anyway, the show is about how Dharma and Greg meet, instantly fall in love, get married the next day, and then how they deal with their families who are so different. In one episode, Greg’s family wants the young couple to have an elaborate wedding, with a wedding gown, bridesmaids, flowers, and all. Dharma’s parents want the butlers to participate in the wedding, have a cleansing ceremony, and donate canned goods to the poor. I think the show is very funny and entertaining, and I give it four stars.

Duke it out in DC

By Roy S.

Since my last article was about Duke Nukem, I have now decided to feature its "add-on," Duke it out in DC. An add-on is an enhancement program designed to run with the original game. This is a full impact game with an attitude, which will easily replace the older add-on, Shrapnel City. In this game you will travel to the Lincoln Memorial, the White House, the headquarters of the FBI and other exciting places. The graphics and sound are the same as in the original Duke, but the levels are even more confusing. The most confusing level is in the Smithsonian, and here is a clue on how to beat it--Ancient Worlds and the Death Penalty. I highly recommend this game. The levels as well as some of the features are unexpected . A word of caution, however, should be added about some of the rough language. On the whole, this is a great add-on to Duke Nukem.

Overall: ***1/2

Graphics: ****

Sound: ****

Gameplay: **

GameDay 98 vs. Madden 98

By Mark L. and Eric T.

GameDay 98 is definitely the better football game. The graphics are somewhat better and the running commentary is superior. This is one of the funniest games around, and certainly the best sports game available. The graphics are nearly equal for both. Madden 98 does include simulation which GameDay 98 does not. This, however, does not outweigh the great commentary which makes GameDay 98 much better than Madden 98.

Over All - 4 2

Commentary - 10 2
